If your device is configured to perform backups to iCloud or a Mac/PC, PaperVault data will be backed up to those destinations unless configured otherwise. The backup process is controlled by the operating system. PaperVault does not control this process, nor PaperVault author has access to your backups. Printing encrypted documents in the form of QR Codes is done through the proper iOS APIs. iOS handles the network communication with the printer used by you. PaperVault does not implement, handle, capture data from, or interfere in that communication in any way. Keep in mind using shared printers (in offices, print shops, etc) may expose your printed documents to third parties, as printers may be configured to keep a digital copy of all printed documents, redirect them to a third party, or expose information in any other way. PaperVault author is not responsible for the security and privacy of the printer you use.
